pay attention in class, study after class with partners, then go home and study by yourself. They throw all the books at you fast, and you need to build good study habits, i.e. API and flight school in general is more a test of time management than anything else. You'll have say, weather classes Mon-Thu, the weather exam Fri, but you'll also be in another class at the same time earlier or later in the day, in addition to PT. API is essentially college finals week, every day, for 6 weeks. What makes them difficult is the volume of information coming at you. They're not particularly difficult in and of themselves. The API exams I like to compare to a college exam. (the stickied post, 1001 questions about the ASTB, is money).
